ABOUT TayKu.org

FACT : Jewish education costs have skyrocketed to an unbearable point. Innovative solutions are needed now to help bring the costs down for families across the globe, and ensure that the Jewish education system can survive.  Today's 750+ day schools service over 200,000 students with an estimated budget in excess of $2 billion, and these numbers are only going up!

TayKu : TayKu is our contribution to helping solve this problem.  In 2005, Google will pay out over $2 billion to their network of advertisers, and our goal is to legitimately earn Google commissions and channel 100% of those commissions toward the education crisis.

Use of Proceeds : All net profits received from Google will be donated to directly offset rising tuition costs through scholarships, projects and initiatives aimed at reducing the financial burden of Jewish education at TayKu's discretion. We are always open to ideas on how to best allocate the zedakah (charity).

Origin of the Name : In Talmudic exegesis, when the Rabbinical authorities were left without an answer to a confounding question they would finish with the word “TayKu,” referring to the fact that we would need to wait until the times of Moshiach to learn the answer.

Fast forward 2,000 years. Where do people go when they don't know the answer? Google!

Google has been acclaimed as the closest thing the Web has to an ultimate answer-machine, and because the cost of Jewish education has evolved into an “unanswered question,” we hope that linking with Google will provide us all with the answer.

Logo Contest : If you would like to submit an original logo for consideration please send us an e-mail.
